Chef Vincent D’Amato    
     

For me it all started at birth being born into a family that lives around food and wine. I started cooking at age five with my Grandma Nuzzo, from there the rest is history. I started in the business professionally working at my families restaurants Hofstots café Monaco and Chelsea Grille in Oakmont P.A. Where I was a dish washer at thirteen and quickly worked though both restaurants as a line cook. At age nineteen I entered Pennsylvania Culinary and excelled landing an externship at the four star Registry Resort Naples Florida, after just six months I was promoted to sous chef of the resorts five star Restaurant Lafite where I worked for two years.

Moving on with my career I was the Chef De Cuisine at Annabells on Fifth Naples FL., and Isabella on Grandview Pittsburgh PA. I joined the Ritz Carlton Buckhead Atlanta as a Sous Chef. In 2004 and after just one year I was promoted to Chef of Victors grille At the Ritz Carlton New Orleans where I also worked for one year. A total of two years with the Ritz Carlton and a gang of knowledge led me back to the Registry Resort Naples FL where I Ran all restaurant operations.
Before Coming to San Juan Puerto Rico I held the position of Ex Sous Chef at the four star LXR Property Casa Marina in Key West Florida.

I have an extreme passion for food and the business as a whole I love every moment. I met Guillermo Gonzalez at Pennsylvania Culinary on my first day of class and we have been best friends ever since, so when he told me he was opening Taste there was no other options. I am doing what I love to do and I am doing it with my best friend. I wouldn’t be anywhere else at this point in my career. At Taste we create a unique blend of global food using our twisted vision to interpret cuisine in a way no one would ever dream. With two chefs, one concept and very creative minds there is truly something for everyone here.
