Well my guess is that for me it started a Little bit later than others but the fact is that I became a chef. When I was fifteen I worked at La Fonda Taina a restaurant owned by family friends where I started learning all aspects of the business. While working here I did everything from wash dishes to serve, working through the restaurant made me realize I had a passion for this business and decided to make a career out of it. Going to Pennsylvania Culinary in 1999 I studied culinary arts, I did my externship at two restaurants Old Europe and Dish in Pittsburgh PA. In 2001 I landed a job at the four star Registry Resort , while at the registry I worked my way through all five outlets ending up as the Chef de Partie of Lafite there five star Restaurant. Here is where I realized I needed to seriously pursue my passion and creativity for food! I moved to Atlanta Georgia and while working as sous chef at East Andrews in Buckhead I visited all of the top restaurants in Atlanta and the rest of the states.
After one year I moved home to Puerto Rico and started studding the food market in San Juan when the concept for Taste hit me. A modern yet classy restaurant, a theater, a stage, a place where people can enjoy a different side of the business while enjoy the worlds delicacies. I wanted to give the people of San Juan something they would never forget, a place where food, wine and people meet and enjoy all the good things in life ….Taste is the sensation of flavor perceived by the mouth on contact, knowing this I took everything I knew about food and put it to the test, a restaurant in Puerto Rico using Global products (the best available) with Bi-weekly changing menus and i ran with it . Already open I decided that my best friend Vincent D’Amato from the United States who had gone to school with me and got me first Fine dining job at the Registry Resort needed to join my team, from there the rest is yet to be written …………………………FOOD IS MY WAY CREATING ART …..A PAINTING ON A PLATE …………..
